O MY POEMS ! DRESS IN SIMPLE GARMENTS !

என் கவிதைகளே ! எளிமையாகுக !

&

on a listless noon...

on a listless noon !

&

the noon sits heavily upon the earth--

the sullen wind grumbles through the tired leaves-

the trees droop down their gloomy branches-

the roaside noises punch my aching head ;

the clouds are stickily stagnant

as the moss -spread on a soulless lake-

the time fades lazily

as the curling smoke thread from the incense stick-

one by one the black clouds devour the afternoon sun

and the sun wriggles out of their throats sluggishly-

the nature is listless and sober

as my dreams of life !

ANNA HAZARE AND CORRUPTION

anna hazare and fight against corruption

&

crowds pour in thousands

to see actors for their glamouur

to politicians to blindly support their falsities

to so called saints to revere their false robes

to orators mesmerized by the web of words

to singers to melt in their melodies--

but all has its own limits of assemblage

as most of them lack universal appeal

as most lack truth and sincerity of the deliverers'

as most of them are dishonest and self-serving--

the surging crowds gradually peter out-

the crowds would easily sense their purpose.

but ,here is a man,though diminutive

stands colossal among giants of politician cheats

to crush them all under his mighty feet-

he ,unlike others,lives a truthful and simple life-

a real soldier of the army in action fronts

a whole village testifying his service in broader light-

a man committed to a cause dear to all and sundry-

an epidemic that sucks the life of common man

at every level at every step of his daily life-

which gets the stick at lower levels if at all found-

but has become a way of life for those at top-

with law a powerless prisoner in their hands-

their bank accounts growing obese in foreign lawless banks-

courts devoting energies to favour with loopholes-

but this man's intention is pure,selfless,

taking clubs to smash the head of corruption

putting it behind bars on life-imprisonment

leaving none in the process however mighty his job may be-

as now the constitution is just a laughing -stock

since its dictum that all are equal before law is unenforceable-

he fights that this untouchability to be given boot-

he yields to nothing that are diluted-

no selfishness but tries to lift the whole country on his shoulders-

he believes he can;yet he is not a man of empty words-

a man of firmness,caring not for his life,nor his name

sullied by filthy politicians,facing bullets of falsehood on his chest-

people sense the true spirit of this little man

who can speak only a language of conviction

and so rushes to storm the evil of corruption

now centered at the gates of parliament

under the care of self -centered politicians under every hued flag

making empty noises and resorting to fist fights of arguments

turning deaf to the symphony of cries against corruption-

the times look like the days of french revolution -

probably the politicians fear that prisons might be insufficient

if they enact this janlokpal bill in stringent content

and may be that fears that they may end up in prison soon-

this man with indomitable spirit is 'anna hazare'

a real replica of the frail man of the nation we forgot!

TALKING TO MYSELF .....

talking to myself

&&

care you this world-

this world of men,

o my friend?

must you then be an idiot !

worry not a bit;

woo it not-

the more you woo

more the bites would you get-

with scornful eyes

it would jeer at you-

on your path slanders

would it sow in plenty-

for it is a mysterious

mad world.

&

so take up

that lovely harp-

tune its delicate sparkling strings

to the pitch of emotion

that sings witin you-

those solemn,melodious..

mellifluous soul-stirring songs-

unheard of yet

by the thick-membraned ears

of this dull world of men!

&

let the two pitches-

that within and without-

blend naturally and gracefully;

let your path vibrate

with your ecstatic songs-

let the air dance

to the rhythm of

your serene soft songs !

&

proceed on and on

along your lonely path ;

never look back

to see this world..

it may be aiming your head-

a mad world it is

let me remind you !
&

set the bowl of fancies

before your glittering wisdom ;

pour the sweet nectar

of your moony heart-

stir fast with the meditation

of your mind--

catch the refrain

of the supreme joy

from the sparkling spots

as they spin in magical rhythm

in swooning circles-

bind it deftly to your songs !

this world has no ears

for good things-

new fragrances

fail to thrill its nostrils-

likes to crawl only

in beaten narrow tracks

folding tight its wings-

so shed not tear-drops

if you are far removed

from winds of appreciation

&

relent not a bit-

have the delicate strings of your harp

loosened a bit ?

screw it tight-

pluck them fast ;

speak through your strings ;

let your songs overflow the cup

of your unspent life-

enjoy it fully !

&

take up your chisel ;

sharpen it with your designs-

behold the lofty mountain

standing in silent majesty

in front of your tiny frame-

carve and carve day and night

till it yields itself

to charming angels !

rejuvenate your slackened nerves

with cups of dreams

peppered with imagination !

&

build your tiny boat

this night itself-

tow it to the shore

and push into the ocean

of poet's delight

when a friendly tide

calls it in

with a loving heave !

work your small oars briskly

and sail forward

deep into ocean's roars-

do not care the sandy shores;

your world is the boundless sea ;

your songs that of the joyful tides !

&

look ahead into the blue billow-

dance in joy

with the roaring waves ;

read everything

your eyes encompass-

holding no thought of the sandy shore

sail forever

in search of newer worlds;

new delights

and glories new-

but beware of those

with designs to torpedo from behind !

&

meditate in the limpid silence

of the night-

and in the freshness

of the dewy morn ;

and in the mellowness

of the dusk

with wide open eyes-

pile up your works ;

look never back

at those mocking eyes-

let juicy thoughts full of lustre

flow perennially

from the moist tip

of your mighty pen ;

never allow to cease its flow !

&

do not spy they read or reject

the patient creations

of your passionate heart !

that should never be

your sickening worry ;

but to write non-stop

must be duty-prime--

let your works stand

face to face

against yonder mountains

in all its pride and humility !

&

before this world

wakes up from its slumbers

pour out all from your boisterous heart

and bestow those comely thoghts

a lovely shape

enduring life

everlasting lustre

soul of truth

and lively wings !

release them free

in the marvellous skies

and stupendous space

to sail among stars !

&

let them flutter

their cheerful wings

cooing their hearts out

in sudden bursts of

soul-thrilling songs

with the fragrance of your heart

upon their wings

scenting strong

their happy ways and days !

&

till then

rest not

wink not

your eyelids-

o my friend ...!

it s all for your soul

and to a soul

generations away

continents away

that awaits

with a longing heart !

MY BOSS IS MY ' MIND '.

My boss is my ' Mind '

My boss is my ' Mind '--

I am his only ' stenographer '

But insincere and inefficient ;

My boss ever walks on my head ;

He is very fast in dictation

Ever agile and sleepless-

He cares not I take down or not-

He has no time to look back

To worry on these small issues !

My notepad is full of hurried scribblings

Which are beyond me even to decipher !

I miss many many but record only a few-

All mutilated and out of context and bruised

But my boss never asks for the draft

Yes, he has no time to look back !

Never he condemns me

But will say " you are only the loser ! "

I AM CLUELESS FOR WHOM I WRITE !

I Am Clueless For Whom I Write..!

In my knowledge I have no friends nor relatives

Nor those who welcome my works into their hearts ;

But who knows such exist beyond my skies and seas

With their silent lips and lazy fingers?

Really I am clueless for whom I pen my works

But to unburden my heart that weighs me down

And for the dizzy kick that keeps me afloat

May there be a mirror-soul of me

That awaits in the dim distance far far beyond

For my songs to alight on its willing shoulders !
